![]() If you're on hardcore, consider concentration a good dump of skill points. Don't bother with bash/stun unless you don't plan to spec berserk. Weapon mastery for the class of weapons you like the most will help you out with attack rating problems. Skills like faster run and natural resistances are one point wonders, do not invest more than that and let +skill gear do the rest. When surrounded by monsters, leap can cause monsters and players to enter stun lock frame recovery based on skill level. In this case you might as well run sword/shield or axe/shield since dex will work with block and also help your tanking abilities. If you're playing solo single player, you're going to have to spec some points into dex because raven frosts/angelic rings/AR charms will be hard to come by. If you're playing multi/pvp, you'll need it for unsummon/chain locks against nearly every class. If you're playing single player you'll need it to kill physical immune monsters. Getting to Duriel, Mephisto or Diablo at 24 rather than 23, or 30 rather than 29 can be quite a big deal (battle orders, natural resist, battle command) (even more so on some other classes - like necro). And maybe experimenting once or twice more if he finds things easy going, again, will put him a bit ahead of the curve. The original poster will most likely be best off on /players 1 very early in the game, but squeezing out an extra level or two really early on is quite nice for getting ahead of the curve. If you're farming an area with a real eye on the very rarest drops in the game, you want to be playing /players 1 because those drops only come from champs / uniques, and their drops are unaffected by the number of players in the game, all you can do is kill as many as possible. If you're shooting for 99 you probably want to be playing /players 8, but you'll want to make a build optimized for damage, not for magic find. ![]() But if you're farming the Coutness for runes, well, her loot routine is stupid, always use /players 1. make a ridiculous fire sorc and use /players 8 since most of the run is travel time. But if you're farming, say, Nightmare Andariel for SOJs. Most act bosses are best killed on /players 3, the rewards for higher are surprisingly small. If /players 4 seems to be your comfortable zone either a) play /players 5 a bit slower or, probably better, use /players 3 and go somewhat faster. In a nutshell, 2, 4, 6 mostly just increase XP. Try to kill act bosses on /players 3, even if it is a struggle. If you are playing offline, investigate the /players command. Starting a build this way doesn't necessarily require a respec if you want to move on to bigger and better skills, perhaps slows things down a little, and it also doesn't pigeon-hole your weapon choice really early on. In Nightmare, switch to Offensive (for the rest of time!). ![]() Use an Act 2 Combat mercenary in normal difficulty (the little pulses of healing are great when you have lousy gear). No 1 priority on gear is to get some life steal, even if it hurts your damage.A few unspent in case you need extra Dex to use a weapon. Stat points: mostly strength, a few into vitality. In Act 4 or 5 if you get a weapon that just seems ridiculously good, consider putting points in the appropriate mastery.Dump almost everything else into Shout, then Battle Orders.Put ONE point in Leap, Stamina, Speed, Iron Skin and Natural Resist, Battle Command.Put points into Double Swing, until it costs no mana.Have you patched the game to the latest version? If so, you can work with the fact that you get a few free respecs. Last updated at 14:00:17 UTC Weekly Help Desk RAGE Loot Thread Trade Thread
