It is as if the album was not only well composed musically, but also well directed, since they are narrating a story, the best they can do is give coherence to the script, as if it were a movie. What even today doesn't convince me too much is Swano's clean voice, it doesn't sound bad but it falls short, it doesn't convey much to me but I admit that clean vocalizations are at the right times. The first time I heard Crimson I was hooked in particular by the solos, where Ã…kerfeldt from Opeth also collaborates, to give that appropriate melancholy and epic touch to the music. A story that mixes uncertainty, tragedy and betrayal is ideal for the coupling of riffs and solos that this album has. In his time he also praised the ability of the musicians to write the concept of the album that really goes like a glove regarding the music. The brutal introduction with that ultra-heavy riff along with Swano's furious gutturals encourage anyone and then you find a mysterious prelude that gives rise to epic riffs, where Swano through his roars tells the story that is told in this album. Well, if in the past I came to regard Dan Swano as a god, just imagine my reaction when I discovered Crimson. Crimson was for me an incomparable work of art when I heard it for the first time, even with the second, third, fourteenth time. I remember that when I first discovered this album, I was impressed by the enormous devotion shown by listeners who knew this style.
